An Introduction to Information Technology

More than 90 percent of Australians will need to use some level of digital skills at work within the next five years.

All jobs will increasingly require the basic skills needed to communicate and find information online. Don’t be left behind!

This course is ideal for students looking for an introduction to computers and the employability skills necessary for varying industries. Learn how to:

  • use digital technology to undertake routine workplace tasks;
  • operate a personal computer (PC) in a home or small office environment, including accessing files with application programs, sending and retrieving emails, using the Internet, using peripheral devices and applying basic security procedures and power management settings;
  • operate word- processing applications and perform basic operations, including creating and formatting documents, creating tables and printing labels;
  • use a range of digital devices, such as a digital camera, video camera, or personal digital assistant (PDA) device.

This course includes units of competency from the following training package:

  • Information and Communications Technology Training Package.

This training will be delivered by Community College Northern Inland Inc. - Registered Training Organisation 90027.

Assessments are made against units of competency from the Course in SG00006483 - Skills Group SG00006483.
  • Use digital devices (ICTICT104)
  • Operate word-processing applications (ICTICT102)
