This course consists of 2 x 4-week sessions that will assist learners with computer skills required to use software and services in the cloud, and carry out basic computer tasks using MS Excel in a home or workplace environment.

Topics you'll cover in this weekly class include:

  • Introduction to the Cloud
    We've all heard about 'the cloud', but what exactly is it? In this course you'll learn what the cloud is, how the cloud is used to deliver software and services to users from any device via the Internet, and the benefits of using the cloud. The knowledge you learn in this session will help prepare you for using cloud-based services such as Google Drive at home or at work.

  • Introduction to MS Excel
    Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application that is used for storing, organising, and manipulating different types of data - financial data, customer data, and product data to name a few. People use Excel to manage their budget and spending, perform financial calculations, and generate charts and reports for presentations. The knowledge you learn in this session will help prepare you to carry out basic functions using Microsoft Excel for home use or at entry level in the workplace.
