Community Services is one of the largest growth industries in our area. This course is ideal for people who like to assist others and those who would like to work in a rewarding field where they are able to make a difference.

This qualification reflects the role of entry level community services workers who support individuals through the provision of person-centred services. Work may include day-to-day support of individuals in community settings or support the implementation of specific community-based programs.

At this level, work takes place under the direction of others and supervision may be direct or indirect. Work may take place in a range of community services organisations.

Assessments are made against units of competency from the Certificate III in Community Services CHC32015.

  • Organise personal work priorities and development (BSBWOR301)
  • Communicate and work in health or community services (CHCCOM005)
  • Recognise and respond to crisis situations (CHCCCS019)

  • Facilitate the interests and rights of clients (CHCADV001)
  • Provide first point of contact (CHCCOM001)
  • Manage personal stressors in the work environment (HLTWHS006)
  • Work with diverse people (CHCDIV001)
  • Identify and respond to children and young people at risk (CHCPRT001)
  • Support relationships with carers and families (CHCCCS025)
