Inland Rail is a game-changer for our region that’s generating thousands of local jobs and significantly boosting local business investment. We’re here to help you make the most of the Inland Rail opportunity with a course bundle designed to provide workers with the essential skills required to work on the Inland Rail project. Classes are scheduled to run in campus over 4 days.

This specialised training program prepares workers for employment by teaching them how to:

• identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work including correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used;
• communicate effectively with team members in the context of the work environment;
• take safety precautions to enter the rail corridor, including accessing the danger zone, and responding appropriately in an emergency; and
• provide advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

On successful completion of the program students must obtain a CATEGORY 3 Medical (Track Safety Health Assessment). Rail safety workers who work on or near the track but not in a Controlled Environment (Category 3 workers) require a mandatory Track Safety Health Assessment.
