This is a one day (7 hour) RTA accredited course designed to reinforce the importance of safety while operating as a Traffic Controller.  This qualification is essential for anyone wishing to control traffic on public roads.  NB:  It is a pre-requisite that candidates hold OH & S Construction Induction credentials and have attained at least their Green P licence.  Course by ATAC – Geoff Tall or Darren Rickard RTA Licensed Trainer.

WORK SAFELY in the CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
(Formerly Green Card)

This essential course is for all persons who work in the construction industry.  Learn the OH & S responsibilities in the workplace.  Workcover certificate and card issued at the completion of the course.  100 points ID required.  Age minimum: 14 years 9 months.

ST JOHN SENIOR FIRST AID
(Flexible Learning)

This St John Senior First Aid course with Terry Kitching includes one day face to face training with prerequisite study prior to the training day – ideally two weeks preparation time allowed prior to course to allow for collecting the course manual etc.  For those wanting to complete the First Aid Recertification – only the one day training is required.  This can only be considered if previous First Aid has not expired by more than 14 days – a copy of First Aid Cert. required.  Minimum age requirement:   participant must turn 15 during the year of the course.

This six week course running two days per week takes you from step 1 – turning the computer on through to completion of Certificate I in Information Technology.
Operate a Personal Computer (ICAU1128A), Word Processing– Operate a Word Processing Application (ICAU1129A),
Internet & Email– Send & Retrieve Information using Web Browsers & Email (ICAU1133A).
 
In addition to these units will be the elective units.

This course is for personnel with supervisory responsibilities to implement and monitor an organisation’s OHS policies, procedures and programs in a small team to meet legislative requirements.  The course aims to provide Supervisors/frontline managers with an understanding of OH & S principles and an understanding of implementation of OH & S practices to meet organisational and legislative requirements.

FOLLOW WORKPLACE HYGIENE PROCEDURES/SAFE FOOD  (SITXOHS002A)
This program covers the skills and knowledge required for personal hygiene, food handling, cleaning practices and procedures.  This course is relevant to all staff and volunteers working in kitchens, food stores, cafes, restaurants, clubs etc.  On completion of this course, you will have a basic understanding of the importance and consequences of food poisoning and food contamination and be able to practise safe food handling techniques.  Statement of Attainment will be issued upon successful completion of course assessment

BARISTA - ESPRESSO COFFEE (SITHFAB012A)Barista - Espresso Coffee
Learn how to make and present coffee using a commercial machine.  This course deals with the skills and knowledge required to extract and serve espresso, foaming silky milk correctly, the different coffees on the menu, correct storage of coffee, cleaning, care and preventative maintenance of machinery.  Learning the intricacies and subtle skills to consistently produce a perfect espresso takes time and a genuine enthusiasm to learn and perfect every stage required.
