Teachers at the Summer School will include John Giacon and Suellyn Tighe. Details of the classes are yet to be finalised, but we expect that there will be an introductory language workshop in Week 1 open to all, and an advanced workshop for those who have done some language work previously, or who wish to build on the lessons from the first week. We expect to offer these at no cost to participants, but associated expenses such as travel, accommodation and meals will be the responsibility of individual students. Please register your interest early, and we will keep you informed as dates, times, structure and content of the workshops are confirmed. MONDAY NIGHT MYSTERY MOVIE CLUB
This term, we’re looking at a selection of classic suspense thrillers from the Golden Years of Film Noir, 1945 – 1956. Drenched in atmosphere, these films trawl the depths of the human psyche in their stories of greed, lust, betrayal, deception and murder. So settle in for a term of mystery, suspense and excitement. For the first time, we will be screening at the Community College, 39 Chandos St, starting at 6pm, and finishing around 8pm each night.
Cost:
$25 membership for all 8 programs, or $5 per screening, including wine and nibbles.

Mon 2nd  November, 6pm: Douglas Sirk’s LURED (1947). Lucille Ball’s best friend has been murdered, so she agrees to act as bait to help the police lure the killer. Co-stars  George Sanders, Charles Coburn and a creepy Boris Karloff.
